Rent or mortgage

Where do you live? Many people, of course, live in an apartment or a house. I don\’t think there is any other option. But there are options for how and why you live? You can live in a rental or a lease or you can also perhaps have a house or flat on a mortgage. And I\’m renting for now. I\’m just renting a small room from my neighbour. Because I have a job and a part-time job and I\’m not home very often. And so it would probably be pointless for me to rent an apartment or a house. Or if I took out a mortgage? I told myself that maybe I\’ll live in an apartment or a home or take out a mortgage when I have a partner.

I think working a mortgage when you\’re single is probably not the ideal choice. Take if maybe your income drops out? If you were to be ill for a long time? Would you go to work? Then who would pay the mortgage? That\’s really very sad in my opinion. And I mention this mainly because I know several people who have just taken out a mortgage. They were alone. And then they defaulted. They couldn\’t handle it because they lost their jobs because they were long-term sick. And they ended up going into a lot of debt. And then they also went into insolvency.

Here, at least, you see an unfortunately successful case of, for example, one person taking out a mortgage and not paying it back, and then getting into a debt trap. That is sad, in my opinion, and it should not happen. That is why I have also taken the example of it. I won\’t ever take out a mortgage on my own, but I won\’t ever go into renting on my own either. I give my neighbor at least two or sometimes three grand just so I can live there anyway. I\’m only there for like five hours a day. And the neighbor is glad you saw at least some money on the side. And how are you guys doing with money? Do you have a mortgage or are you renting or still living with your parents? I believe that you will also think carefully about where and how you will live, whether you will rent or take out a mortgage.
